Audit Process
What is the audit process?
The Fieldnode audit process is a standardized method developed in collaboration with leading energy operators. It enables manufacturers to undergo a single, standards-compliant on-site audit, conducted in alignment with agreed criteria. The results are shared through the Fieldnode Digital Inventory platform, allowing operators to review the audit and approve the manufacturer individually — without needing to conduct their own site visit
Who can access our audit data?
Audit data is securely shared with verified operators only on the Fieldnode platform. This allows potential customers to review your audit results as part of their supplier approval process
How does it benefit our organization?
The Fieldnode audit process benefits both manufacturers and their customers via an efficient digitised process which streamlines qualification, ensures adherence to the process, and strengthens trust across the ecosystem.
For manufacturers, it means only having to complete one on-site, standards-compliant audit — reducing audit fatigue, cost, and complexity. The results can then be securely shared with multiple potential customers, increasing eligibility and speeding up access to new business opportunities.
For operators, it ensures access to a growing network of pre-audited, high-quality additive manufacturers — without having to repeat on-site assessments. Each organization retains full control to review and approve suppliers based on shared, trusted data.
Ultimately, the process saves time and resources for all parties while supporting a scalable, high-quality Digital Inventory ecosystem
Is the audit mandatory?
No, the audit is not mandatory. However, completing it is widely seen as a benefit and can serve as a competitive advantage. It increases your eligibility to serve a broader customer base by demonstrating compliance and readiness
What is the audit scope?
The audit follows a streamlined process aligned with recognized industry standards such as API and DNV. It covers key areas relevant to additive manufacturing readiness and quality assurance
How was the audit process designed?
The process was developed in collaboration with several leading energy operators. The goal was to align expectations across different standards, reduce audit duplication, and lower the overall cost and complexity of qualifying manufacturers
What are the cost, time, and resource requirements for the audit?
The audit is conducted at the manufacturer’s own cost in terms of resources and time. The exact requirements may vary depending on your existing documentation, maturity level, and facility setup
What happens if we don’t pass the audit?
If some criteria are not met, you’ll receive a detailed report highlighting findings and areas for improvement, along with a suggested timeline for corrective actions. Until the necessary improvements are addressed, your visibility and eligibility for participating in RFQs may be limited by certain customers
How are the audit results displayed on the platform?
Audit results are managed through the Fieldnode platform in a structured, digital format. When operators review a manufacturer profile, they can access audit status, findings, and relevant documentation to support their approval process
