Objective
To provide a clear and concise step-by-step guide for team members to effectively retrieve product data necessary for creating offers in response to Requests for Quotation (RFQs). This SOP aims to reduce misunderstandings and errors while maximizing productivity and accuracy in task execution
Key Steps
Access the RFQ
Navigate to the specific RFQ you need to work on
Open the Information Pane
Locate the right-hand information pane of the RFQ
Expand or collapse the pane as needed for better visibility
View Product Data
Click on the “View Products” button to access the product data
Review Summary Screen
Examine the high-level data provided on the summary screen for an overview of the products
Access Detailed Product Information
Click on “View Product” to access detailed information provided by the Intellectual Property (IP) owner
Check Scoping Details
Review the “Scoping” tab for:
Detailed manufacturing instructions
The name of the item to be completed
The value assigned to the item
Any comments or requirements specified by the IP owner
Inspect the Inspection and Test Plan
Navigate to the “Inspection and Test Plan” tab to understand the quality control tests required during production
Review Product Assets
Go to the “Product Assets” tab to find:
Preview Media Files (images)
Attachment files (additional documents)
Access the IP vault for the 3D model of the part
Return to RFQ
After gathering all necessary data, return to the RFQ to begin creating your offer
Cautionary Notes
Ensure that you double-check the details provided in the Scoping and Inspection tabs, as inaccuracies can lead to production errors
Always reach out to the contact person listed in the RFQ if you have any questions or need clarification on the request
Tips for Efficiency
Familiarize yourself with the layout of the RFQ and product data sections to speed up navigation
Keep a checklist of required data points to ensure you do not miss any critical information
