Objective
To provide a clear and structured process for team members to initiate a Request for Quotes (RFQ) on products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in obtaining manufacturing quotes
Key Steps
Log In and Access Products
Log into the system with your user credentials
Navigate to the "Products" section to locate the product for which you want to initiate an RFQ
Select the Product
Identify the specific product you wish to request quotes for
Click on the product to view its details
Initiate the RFQ
Once in the product view, locate and click on the "Request for Quote" tab
Review any past or current RFQs associated with the product
Create a New RFQ
Click on the blue "Create Request" button to start the RFQ process
You will see three tabs:
RFQ Details: Fill in the necessary information about the RFQ
Scope of Work: Review the information provided by the IP owner. This section includes detailed instructions for the manufacturer on how to produce the parts
ITP (Inspection and Test Plan): Review the quality control testing requirements that the manufacturer must adhere to during production
Review Product Information
On the right-hand side, utilize the information pane to view high-level product details.
Click "View Product" to see a summary of the product data. Click again to return to the RFQ creation page
Complete and Submit RFQ
Ensure all required fields are filled out accurately in the RFQ Details tab
Double-check the Scope of Work and ITP for completeness
Submit the RFQ for processing
Cautionary Notes
Ensure that all information entered in the RFQ is accurate and complete to avoid delays or misunderstandings with manufacturers
Be aware of any deadlines for RFQ submissions to ensure timely responses from manufacturers
Tips for Efficiency
Familiarize yourself with the product details and previous RFQs to streamline the process
